Delhi Flood Update: The water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi has surged, resulting in the submersion of numerous areas and causing significant disruptions. The Delhi Secretariat, which houses the Chief Minister’s office, and low-lying regions near Purana Quila have been inundated due to the rising water levels. The Public Works Department officials have reported water-logging in the Delhi Secretariat and are collaborating with traffic police and other agencies to address the situation. The flooding has also impacted the school system, with the closure of government and private schools in the affected areas, as announced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Three Water treatment plants shut down in Delhi
Additionally, entry-exit at the Yamuna Bank Metro station has been temporarily closed due to the rising water levels. However, the Blue Line services of the Delhi Metro are still operational. Three water treatment plants have been shut down due to the flooding, resulting in a potential water shortage in Delhi for a couple of days. Chief Minister Kejriwal assured that the plants would resume operations as soon as the water recedes.

Kejriwal urged people to stay off the roads and cooperate with the authorities during the evacuation process in the affected areas. The water level of the Yamuna River continues to rise rapidly, reaching 208.48 meters on Thursday morning, causing extensive submergence of roads and infrastructure and posing challenges to the residents living nearby.
