New Delhi: The Delhi Police has written a letter to the social network platform Telegram regarding ‘Justice League India’ channel. The group reportedly uploaded CCTV footage of the incident took responsibility of the blast hours after the incident on Sunday evening. The blast took place around 7:40 PM last evening. No one was hurt in the incident.
The Telegram is yet to respond on the matter. While the probe is currently underway, there is still no clarity on whether any organisation was behind the incident. The police is seeking information from other social media platforms too. Speaking to TV9 Network, a police official said that all angles are being looked into the incident.
Police interrogate caller
According to the police, the sound of the blast near the CRPF school was so loud that the window glasses and signboards of nearby shops were damaged. The Police have questioned the person who made the PCR call after the incident.
During the interrogation, the caller said that he was sleeping at home when he heard a loud blast, after which a PCR call was made to the police. An FIR has also been registered against the unknown persons in the case.
IED used in blast
A number of probe teams including the NIA, National Security Guard, and CRPF reached the spot, apart from Delhi Police, after the incident. According to the police, the probe is being done on every angle in the case including the Khalistani link. As per the PTI, the bomb used in the blast was a low-intensity IED (Improvised Explosive Device) that was controlled with a timer or remote without shrapnel. It is suspected that the perpetrators wanted to send a message to authorities.
