Dehradun: A day after registering a case in connection with alleged gangrape rape with a minor girl on the premises of Inter State Bus Terminal in Dehradun city, the police have detained five persons on Sunday. The police continue to interrogate the detained persons to take the investigation in the right direction.
A minor girl was found at ISBT Dehradun
A minor girl, who reached ISBT, Dehradun from Moradabad, was allegedly gangraped on the intervening night of August 12 and 13. She was found in an unstable condition by the helpline team of the Child Welfare Committee. The victim allegedly shared the details of the incident with the team during her counselling.
FIR was registered against unknown criminals
Later, the committee’s members reached ISBT police outpost and communicated to the policemen about the alleged incident late evening on Saturday. Sources said the police soon swung into action and allegedly detained two persons. Dehradun SSP soon reached and subsequently, an FIR was registered against unknown criminals on the basis of an application given to the police by the Child Welfare Committee. Sources further added the victim is not in a condition to give details about the incident.
SSP Dehradun has constituted a special task force
According to a press release, issued by Dehradun SSP’s office, the FIR has been registered under sections 70 (2) Bharatiya Nayay Sanhita (BNS) and 5 (g)/6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh has constituted a special task force to investigate the case. According to the police, since the victim was not in her proper state of mind, she kept on changing her statement. Police said the parents of the girls are alive.
Police have also seized a bus allegedly used
The victim has been taken to the Balika Niketan. Police sources said the victim originally belongs to Punjab. Police continue to examine the CCTV cameras installed on the premises of ISBT. On the basis of information collected from the CCTV cameras, the police have also seized a bus allegedly used in the crime.
