New Delhi: The Congress on Monday rejected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s alleged connection between Sonia Gandhi and Hungarian-American businessman George Soros. The paarty termed the allegations as “dark fantasies” which must be be confined to the “dark web”.
Senior party leader P Chidambaram said that those who have dark, morbit fantacies can continue to have them and that there will be no credence given to these conspiracy theories. The party leader said that while the Congress always stood for the sovereignty and unity of the country, it never did anything that would be against the integrity of India.
Seconding his view, Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav said that it had become a habit of the BJP make false allegations. He added that none of BJP’s allegations have turned out to be correct so far. RJD MP Manoj Jha asked the probe the allegations instead of mere allegations.
Earlier in the day, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju alleged connections between Sonia Gandhi and George Soros. Calling it a ‘serious concern’ Rijiju said that such matters must not be seen through a “political lens”
