New Delhi: After the suspension of six Congress legislators following Rajasthan minister’s remarks on late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Rajasthan Assembly speaker Vasudev Devnani has now called for the suspension of Pradesh Congress Committee chief Govind Singh Dotasra for causing deadlock in the House.
Congress MLAs have continued boycotting the proceedings of the House after Rajasthan minister Avinash Gehlot reportedly made ‘Dadi’ remarks on Indira Gandhi on Friday. Following the ruckus in the House, the Opposition and the government agreed to a deal to apologise on the issue. However, the matter led to a stalemate over who will apologise first.
Dotasra’s reaction on his suspension call
PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasra has claimed that he never used offensive words and that the government doesn’t want to run the House as they are scared.
They are making allegations based on newspaper speculation. I never said words like ‘father’s property’. I never disrespected the Speaker. If I did, they should check. If proven wrong, I will do as the Speaker says,” said Dotasra.
Dotasra also said that Assembly Speaker is like his elder brother and if he is hurt by his wordings, then he will apologise to him in person.
Speaker gets emotional, bursts into tears
On Tuesday, Speaker Vasudev Devnani got emotional and went into tears in the state assembly accusing Govind Singh Dotasra of allegedly ‘abusing’ him on Monday.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, attacked the government saying ruling party is misleading people.
“We are united. They should abandon stubbornness and let the House function. “It’s about Rajasthan’s public issues. The govt must set aside arrogance and run the Assembly properly,” Jully added.
