Constable husband to protect Congress MP Sanjana Jatav, made PSO

Alwar: Congress leader Sanjana Jatav will be the first such Member of Parliament (MP) whose personal security officer (PSO) will be her husband. The responsibility for the security of the MP from Rajasthan has been entrusted to her husband who is a constable in the state police.

Jatav’s husband’s name is Kaptan Singh and he will now join as the PSO of the MP. His name was recommended by his wife, Sanjana Jatav herself. The orders regarding the appointment were passed by the SP of Alwar, Anand Sharma.

The recommendation for the name had been sent by the Bharatpur MP, some 20 days back, said reports. Reacting to the appointment, Jatav said, “My husband is my strength and now he will be with me even while he is on duty.” She claimed that even after she had been elected an MP, nothing much has changed between the couple. Though she agrees that she has a much more busier life now, but the behaviour of her husband towards her or her behaviour towards him remains the same.

Her husband Kaptan Singh on the other hand was quoted as saying by ABP network, “MP madam will feel more comfortable with me. I am very happy to work for her security. We had asked for permission to be appointed as the PSO some 1 month back and now the police department has passed this order.”

Sanjana Jatav youngest MP from Rajasthan

Sanjana Jatrav is the youngest MP from Rajasthan. She was married at the age of 18 to Kaptan Singh, a resident of Kathumar in Alwar district. It was due to her father-in-law, Harbhajan Singh that she entered politics. Her father-in-law is a contractor and another of the elders ogf the family was a sarpanch of the village.

Sanjana fought her first elections in 2021 from ward number 29 in Alwar and won it. After this she contested the Assembly election from Kathumar in 2023, but unfortunately she lost these elections. But the Congress party expressed confidence in her and gave her a ticket from Bharatpur in the Lok Sabha Elections. Fulfilling the party’s hopes, she emerged victorious with 51,000 votes. She is believed to be part of the Sachin Pilot faction in Rajasthan Congress. She promised to voice the needs and demands of her area in the Parliament after her win.
