New Delhi: Addressing an election rally in poll-bound Jammu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attacked the Congress, National Conference (NC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying that the people of the Union Territory were tired of the three families. He accused these parties of engaging in corruption and discrimination in job allocations.
Speaking to a large gathering, the Prime Minister further asserted that the people no longer want terrorism, separatism, or bloodshed; they desire peace and a better future for their children. He said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir want peace, and they want a better future for their children. That is why they seek a BJP government.”
‘Substantial support for the BJP in both phases’
Modi expressed confidence that the first BJP government in the region would be formed with a full majority. He remarked, “The heavy voting in the last two phases has revealed the mood of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. There has been substantial support for the BJP in both phases. The first government of the BJP will be formed with a full majority here.”
‘Unified call for the BJP government’
Attacking the Congress, he recalled that when Pakistan fired bullets, the grand old party would “wave white flags”. He then noted that when the BJP came to power at the Centre, shells were fired in response to the bullets from across the border. “Today is 28th September. On the night of 28th September in 2016, a surgical strike was conducted. India informed the world, ‘This is a new India; we strike back from within. Terrorist leaders know that if they make any mischief, Modi will find them even in the depths of the earth’,” he added.
He further emphasised that throughout Jammu, Samba, and Kathua, there is a unified call for the BJP government.
