Congress MLC Jeevan Reddy slammed the party saying that there was no protection or basic security for the people to live safely in a Congress ruled state after his follower, former MPTC Maru Ganga Reddy was hacked to death on Tuesday by an unidentified person in Jabitapur, Jagtial district of Telangana.
Congress workers and Jeevan Reddy protested on Jagtial-Dharmapuri road and demanded for the immediate arrest of the accused, leading to a massive traffic jam in the area.
Speaking to the media, he said that Ganga Reddy was like a brother to him. Further, he said that he was treated poorly, insulted and harassed mentally. “At least let us live. I will serve the people by opening an NGO. Why should we be in the party if we are being physically eradicated?”
Ganga Reddy murdered:
Ganga Reddy, 56, who was traveling on a motorcycle was knocked down by a car in Jabitapur village and when he fell down the motorcycle, a person came out of the car and stabbed him to death. His body was shifted to Jagtial government hospital.
The police said that an existing enmity between him and the accused led to the stabbing.
Police strengthened security in Jabitapur village and Jagtial to prevent any untoward incidents and are searching for the accused.
