Wayanad: Congress general secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized BJP-led Central government, accusing it of making efforts to weaken both the Constitution and democracy. Speaking to party leaders, she said, “This might be the first government in India’s history that is working towards undermining these fundamental pillars of the nation.”
“You must understand that the fight we are fighting today is not just about our politics or ideology. It is about protecting everything that India has achieved,” she added.

On the second day of her three-day visit to Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi addressed the issue of human-animal conflict, saying that she would write to both the central and state governments, urging them to allocate more funds for effective safety measures.
While speaking to reporters after a meeting on the issue, she said that she had previously raised this matter and would continue to do so in the future. “This is a serious issue that needs attention because there is no easy solution to it. I will apply as much pressure as possible to ensure action is taken,” she said.

Priyanka Gandhi highlighted the difficulties in securing funds from both the central and state governments to address the human-animal conflict. She assured that she would keep pushing for a resolution. “We need increased funding for better monitoring, improved safety measures, and protection for forest guards, watchmen, and others involved in tackling this issue,” she said.
Later in the day, she is scheduled to attend another meeting in the Thiruvambadi assembly constituency in Kozhikode district.
According to Congress sources, Priyanka Gandhi will meet booth-level party leaders in Wandoor and Nilambur assembly constituencies on Monday. Additionally, she will visit the families of people who lost their lives due to attacks by wild animals.
