Hisar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on Congress while addressing a public meeting in Hisar, Haryana on Saturday. The Prime Minister called Congress a “deceptive and dishonest party,” and accused it of causing economic instability in the states it governs.
He highlighted the situation in Himachal Pradesh, where he said Congress has “destroyed the economy.” According to PM Modi, development in Himachal has come to a halt, and the government there is struggling to pay salaries to its employees. He said, “The lies of Congress have been exposed in Himachal Pradesh. Congress government has today destroyed the economy of Himachal Pradesh. The development of the state has stopped.”
PM Modi accuses Congress of corruption
The Prime Minister also accused Congress of corruption and instability, claiming that the party’s history of ruling has only led to more corruption. He pointed out an internal struggle within the Congress party in Haryana over the Chief Minister’s position. “In Haryana, there is a competition between father and son within Congress to become the Chief Minister. In this competition, others are being eliminated,” PM Modi said, referring to Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son.
PM Modi further criticised Congress by saying the party is already losing ground in Haryana as the election approaches. He compared the situation to Congress’ performance in Madhya Pradesh, saying, “As the voting date in Haryana is coming closer, Congress is getting defeated. The condition of Congress in Haryana will be the same as it was in Madhya Pradesh. In the last elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, they inflated the balloon of lies a lot. But the public deflated that balloon by giving a blow of votes.”
Congress saw farmers only as vote banks: PM Modi
On the issue of farmers, PM Modi accused Congress of only seeing them as a “vote bank” and ignoring their real needs. He recalled the Congress government in Haryana during Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s term, saying that the government gave only Rs 2 in compensation to farmers at the time. “Congress leaders saw farmers only as vote banks,” PM Modi said, adding, “Here Congress is also lying on MSP.”
PM Modi also addressed issues concerning Dalits, accusing the Congress of neglecting the welfare of Dalit and backward communities. He brought up incidents of atrocities on Dalits in Gohana and Mirchpur and said that Congress remained silent on these issues. “Congress has closed the doors for Dalits and backward classes,” he said and referred to cases of injustice and violence during Congress rule. “During the rule of Congress, Dalit daughters were tortured, injustice was done but the Congress remained silent.”
The Prime Minister urged the public not to forget the past actions of Congress government, especially regarding the treatment of Dalits and the lack of support for farmers.
