In almost every second game we witness, a mere confusion between two players ends up in a run-out, which often taken a comical route. Something of similar sort happened recently in a game between Hong Kong and Afghanistan A in the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup.
The contest which was being played in Oman saw Afghanistan batters getting involved in a hilarious mix-up on the pitch while trying to take a run but the attempt ended in a run-out. While match proved out to be an exciting one but the comical mix-up between Afghan players Nangeyaliya Kharote and Karim Janat stole all the limelight.
Miscommunication leads to run-out
The score was 118/6 in 17.3 overs when Kharot played a full length delivery towards the mid-on region and attempted to grab a quick single as he ran quickly. However, there was a miscommunication between him and Janat who was at the other end. The non-striker ran for a single straight away but when he was halfway down the pitch, he ran back towards the none strikers end creating a confusion. By that time, Kharote also had reached the same end.
The fielder had ample time to throw the ball towards the wicketkeeper who dislodged the stumps with ease as Kharote departed in utter frustration.
