Kanpur: TV9 Network and Shriram Finance have started a joint to bring a change in the lives of truck drivers. The campaign named ‘Highway Heroes’ moved ahead with full enthusiasm during its second day as well in its Kanpur chapter. The purpose of the campaign is not only to honor truck drivers, but also to empower them in technical, physical and mental health and financial matters. Famous comedian Annu Awasthi also attended the campaign event on the second day. In his funny style, he explained the importance of the event to the truck drivers and praised the ‘Highway Heroes’ Campaign of TV9 Network and Shriram Finance.
During the event on the second day, hundreds of truck drivers benefited from technical skill training as well as sessions related to physical and mental health. The drivers were also given certificates after completing the drivers training under the Skill India program of the Government of India in just three hours. The certificate not only certifies their 12th pass qualification, but is also helpful in renewing their license.
Keeping in mind the mental and physical health of these drivers who drive long distances, special yoga sessions were organized for them. During these sessions, drivers were told about relief from problems like stress, fatigue and back pain through special asanas designed for truck drivers.
Information on security measures against cyber fraud
During the programme, a team from Piramal Healthcare spread awareness about diseases like TB. Facilities like blood sugar, BP and eye checkup were also made available to the drivers for free. Also, to make drivers financially empowered, experts associated with NSE informed them about financial planning, savings, smart investment and measures to protect against cyber fraud.
After Kanpur, the campaign will move to cities like Kalamboli, Gandhidham, Indore, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, where more truck drivers will be able to become a part of it.
