New Delhi: An FIR was lodged against D John Jaraj, a priest of King Generation Prayer Hall on Cross Cut Road in Coimbatore City for the sexual assault of two minor girls at his residence in the GN Mills area of Coimbatore. The incident occurred on May 21, 2024. The police have filed a case against the priest in Coimbatore, for the alleged sexual assault of two minor girls.
A senior officer from the Coimbatore City Police said that Jebaraj, who has a considerable following on social media for his Christian devotional songs, was charged under Sections 9 (l) (m) (aggravated sexual assault) and 10 (punishment for aggravated sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The police search is currently underway for Jebaraj.
As per the sources, the alleged assault happened at Jebaraj’s residence in G.N. Mills on May 21, 2024. The victims of the incident, aged 17 and 14, had gone to attend a party that Jebaraj hosted at his home on that day.
One of the girls reported the incident to the All Women Police Station in Coimbatore Central, claiming that the Jebraj had behaved inappropriately during the party. After confessing to a relative about the incident, the complainant was lodged with the police. Further investigation about the case is underway, police mentioned.
The police have mentioned that Jebaraj is the lead pastor of Kings Generation Church on Cross Cut Road and was been involved with Levi Ministries, a Christian ministry.
