New Delhi: WWE Undisputed champion Cody Rhodes defeated WWE world heavyweight champion Gunther to become the first-ever Crown Jewel champion at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 3, Sunday.
Gunther started things off and attacked Rhodes in the initial minutes. After that, Rhodes fought back and tried an outside dive but Gunther caught him and slammed him powerfully on the ground. Gunther then dominated the first half of the match and outpowered Rhodes in the match.
Rhodes gave a power slam to Gunther to make a comeback in the fight and then gave a superplex followed up by a scoop slam to Gunther. Rhodes started to fired up and went for Cody cutter but Gunther again caught him and grappled him with his submission move but Rhodes escaped Gunther’s sleeper.
Gunther hit a clothesline but Rhodes went again for Cody cutter but again caught by Gunther and he went for a sleeper but Rhodes rolled up and pinned Gunther immediately and became the first-ever Crown Jewel Champion.
Liv Morgan becomes inaugural women’s Crown Jewel champion
Liv Morgan started the match by attacking the legs of Nia Jax. Jax was trying to overpower her and was successful in that and then went a Samoan drop to her but Morgan reversed the attack. Both women were down on the ground and then Tiffany Stratton made a surprise entrance to the ring.
Stratton came to cash in her opportunity to win the WWE women’s title but Jax stooped her to not cashing on her. With the distraction going on in the match Morgan utilised the opportunity and pinned Jax to become the first-ever women’s Crown Jewel champion.
