Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed “Uttarakhand Niwas” (State Guest House) in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area. Constructed at the cost of more than Rs 120 crores, “Uttarakhand Niwas” incorporates the culture, folk art, and architecture of the hill state.
While inaugurating the state guest house, CM Dhami prayed to God for the peace of the departed souls of those who lost their lives in the recent Almora bus accident. He said the Uttarakhand Niwas bears the imprint of the unique art of Uttarakhand. “The wall of this building is traditionally built of beautiful stones of the hill style, which also serves to revive our cultural heritage. This building will give a new height to our rich cultural traditions as well as provide better facilities to the guests coming from Uttarakhand, country and abroad,” CM Dhami told the gathering.
CM asked officials to make arrangement of Uttarakhand’s traditional cuisine at the new state guest house
CM Dhami said that the state’s traditional cuisine should be arranged in the new guest house. He also added there should be a special counter for the sale of Shri Anna and organic products of the state. Visitors should be given the opportunity to purchase Uttarakhand’s traditional caps, pichora, shawl, jacket and famous products of the state at different counters. He reminded the officials about the high-quality products being made by the women self-help groups of the state. “This will be a special kind of experience for our guests who visit Uttarakhand Niwas,” he further said.
