Rahul Gandhi slams detention
Reacting to his arrest Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that the detention of Wanchuk and others was “unacceptable”. Taking to X, he wrote, “The detention of Sonam Wangchuk ji and hundreds of Ladakhis peacefully marching for environmental and constitutional rights is unacceptable. Why are elderly citizens being detained at Delhi’s border for standing up for Ladakh’s future? Modi ji, like with the farmers, this ‘Chakravyuh’ will be broken, and so will your arrogance. You will have to listen to Ladakh’s voice.”
Section 163 of BNS imposed in Delhi
The group was arrested as Section 163 of Bharaiya Nyaay Sanhita has been imposed in Delhi till October 5. Among the areas where this section has been implemented include New Delhi, Central Delhi, North Delhi, and all the borders of Delhi. Authorities have also banned sit-in demonstrations and no one will bring any kind of weapon.
As per sources to TV9 Network, Delhi Police received inputs of planned disturbance because of the Waqf Board Amendment Bill, the Idgah case, and elections in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore, section 163 of BNS has been implemented.
