Choti Diwali School Holiday 2024: Diwali is celebrated all over India on October 31. The schools, colleges, educational institutions all over the country will be closed on October 31 for the Deepavali or Deepotsav festival. Meanwhile, some states have announced school closure on the eve of Deepavali on Wednesday (October 30).
The Puducherry government has declared Wednesday (October 30) a holiday for government schools, offices. Tamil Nadu government has also announced a half-day leave for schools, colleges today. The schools, colleges will be closed in the second half. As per the government notification, the schools, colleges will observe a half-working day on October 30 due to Diwali. However, the Diwali holiday which is scheduled for October 31 has been moved to November 1.
Diwali school holidays state-wise
The schools will be closed in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Jammu, and other parts of India on October 31. However, schools will be closed in West Bengal from October 31 to November 3 on the occasion of Kali Puja and Bhai Dooj. The schools in Bihar will be closed from November 6 to 9 due to Chhath Puja.
No Diwali holiday for schools in these states
The schools in Kerala, Himachal Pradesh will be closed on November 1. The schools in Uttarakhand will be closed from November 1 to 3. However, there is no school holiday announcement for states of Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
