Chennai: A tragic incident occurred in Chennai when a passenger pushed a government bus conductor, Jagan Kumar, off a moving bus, resulting in his death. The incident took place around 7:30 pm on the Chennai MKP Nagar – Koyambedu route on Thursday night.
Conductor Jagan Kumar, 52, asked passenger Govindan, 53, to purchase a ticket, leading to a sudden argument and physical altercation. Govindan allegedly pushed Jagan Kumar, causing him to fall from the bus and suffer severe head injuries.

Govindan was immediately arrested and hospitalized for injuries sustained during the clash. He has been booked under three categories, including murder, preventing a government employee from working, and defaming a government employee.
The driver and conductors of Chennai city buses demanded action against Govindan, temporarily halting services. Jagan Kumar’s family in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district, has been informed, and his body will be handed over after a post-mortem at Kilpakkam Government Hospital.
