Chennai: For the first time in the country, the Tamil Nadu government will conduct a Formula 4-night street race in Chennai on August 31 and September 1. The state government through the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority (TNSDA) to organize a Formula 4-night street race in Chennai. This will make Chennai the first South Asian city to host a Formula 4 street race at night.
Formula 4 Night Street Race in Chennai: Safety Measures and Ticket Details
The car race will be held on a circuit with a circumference of 3.5 km. The circuit is located at Island grounds, War Memorial, Napier Bridge, Swami Sivananda Road and Mount Road. It is notable for being the longest street circuit in South Asia. Three stretches of existing roads have been removed for car racing and newly roads suitable for car racing laid of 3.5 km circuit.
As race will be held at night, more than a hundred high-volatage electric lights were installed on both sides of the road, making it look like night and day. Arrangements have been made for this car race to be watched by around 8,000 people on both sides of the road, including the public and athletes.

Safeguards have also been made so that there is no danger to the public and fans who are watching the race. 4-foot-high concrete retaining walls have been erected for safety. The timings of the much awaited formula 4 car race has now been announced. The public will be able to watch the match on Saturday morning for free. At the same time, the price of the ticket to watch the car race is fixed between Rs 1,699 and Rs 10,999. All tickets are being sold online.
Restrictions and prohibited items announced
Meanwhile, restrictions have been imposed on spectators coming to watch the race. A notification has also been issued regarding which items should not be brought. Accordingly, sharp objects such as scissors, weapons, pocket knives, blades, knives, pepper spray, large chains, etc. are not to be brought. Laser lights, pets, loud musical instruments, flammable materials, tobacco and drug umbrellas, water bottles, cool drinks bottles, and outside food and drinks are not allowed.
