Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu officially relaunched TDP membership drive at the party headquarters in Vijayawada on Saturday, October 26.
The CM accepted the first membership and the second membership was given to state party president Palla Srinivas, who paid Rs 1 lakh to obtain permanent membership.
The membership drive will be held across all 175 Assembly constituencies across the state.
Membership drive in Hyderabad:
Meanwhile, the membership drive is also open at Telangana state office at NTR Trust Bhavan in Hyderabad. Party chief leaders, workers and party fans participated in the 2024-26 registration program.
Membership fees, perks:
Those who pay Rs 1 lakh will become permanent members of the party. An insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh will be provided to those who pay Rs 100. Earlier, the insurance cover was limited to Rs 2 lakh. The families of deceased party members will receive funeral assistance of Rs 10,000.
A total of 73 party members who previously did not receive the benefits, will be given Rs 2 lakh. The party has distributed Rs 102 crore in accident insurance and Rs 18 crore for natural deaths and other emergencies, state president Palla Srinivas said.
Nominated posts to be filled:
In a meeting with party officials at his residence in Undavalli, Naidu stated that strengthening the party from grassroots level is of utmost importance and that nominated posts within the party should be filled.
He also addressed the ongoing efforts to compile a list of candidates to fill nominated posts. The second phase is expected to fill double the number of posts as compared to the first phase, which included 21 posts.
