Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced plans to allocate plots through a lottery system for the first time in 20 years, presenting a golden opportunity for people to purchase land in Uttar Pradesh’s capital.
Under its Mohan Road scheme, LDA has opened registration for plots in Sectors 3, 4, 6, and 7 simultaneously. In the first phase of the scheme, these four sectors will be registered with RERA.
Focus on development
LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar inspected the scheme on Tuesday and issued directions to accelerate development work. He emphasised increasing the number of machines and workers on-site to ensure timely completion of the project. Currently, development work in Sector 6 at Gram-Kaliyakheda is progressing rapidly, with tasks such as road marking, surface dressing, and levelling already completed.
Residential amenities
The project will allocate Rs 25 crore for road construction, drainage, and sewer systems. The Vice Chairman directed the distribution of compensation for trees and plants while initiating development work in Sectors 3, 4, and 7. A total of 1,617 plots will be developed in these sectors, with sizes ranging from 112.5 square metres to 450 square metres.
Additionally, Sector 4 will include 22 plots for group housing and 18 large parks to ensure residents have access to all necessary facilities.
New site office at Kaliyakheda
During the inspection, it was observed that the current site office in Gram-Pyarepur is located far from Sector 6. To address this, the Vice Chairman directed the establishment of a new site office in Kaliyakheda to facilitate easier operations. Plans to increase the number of machines and workers are also in place to expedite the work.
Parking expansion in Devpur Para scheme
The vice chairman also inspected the Devpur Para residential scheme, where parking for SMIG and MIG flats was found to be insufficient. He instructed officials to construct basement parking in available spaces and to develop parks above them. Additionally, he directed the replacement of old swings in society with new and attractive ones.
Concerns over EWS buildings
The Vice Chairman expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress in constructing EWS (Economically Weaker Section) buildings. He warned that if no improvement is seen within two weeks, the responsible agency would face penalties.
The LDA’s ongoing development efforts are expected to significantly enhance residential facilities and parking infrastructure in the Mohan Road area, providing better living conditions for residents.
