Jaipur: A surprising incident took place in Jaipur’s Jaisinghpura Khor area, where a brave pitbull dog chased away a leopard that had entered a residential area in search of prey.
The wild animal ventured into the Bheruji Temple premises in Manbagh around 4.15 am on Friday, posing a threat to the family living there.
Pitbull dog kept for security
The temple premises are home to the priest’s family, who had kept a pitbull dog for security. As soon as the leopard entered, it pounced on the dog. However, the pitbull did not back down and fought fiercely with the leopard.
For several minutes, both animals engaged in a tough battle. Despite being injured, the pitbull managed to overpower the leopard, throwing it face down on the ground. Within seconds, the leopard retreated and ran back towards the forest.
Incident captured on CCTV
The entire confrontation was captured on CCTV cameras installed around the temple. The footage left everyone shocked, as it showed the pitbull standing its ground against the wild animal.
Yogesh Puri, a resident of the temple premises, said that leopards from the nearby forest occasionally enter populated areas. Due to this threat, they had installed CCTV cameras and decided to keep a pitbull for safety.
On the morning of the incident, the family was alerted by the loud barking of the dog. They found the pitbull injured and immediately checked the CCTV footage. It revealed the shocking sight of the leopard attacking the dog.
