Jaipur: A car collided with the convoy of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday. Nine people, including seven policemen, were injured in the incident.
The incident took place near Jagatpura’s NRI Circle in Jaipur when a car, reportedly coming from the wrong side, crashed into the CM’s convoy. The impact of the collision was severe, causing significant damage to the car that was coming from the opposite direction.
Nine people injured
The injured, including seven policemen, were quickly rushed to the hospital, with CM Bhajan Lal himself taking charge. The CM personally inquired about the well-being of the injured and ensured that two seriously injured policemen were admitted to the hospital.
The accident happened as a result of CM Bhajan Lal’s decision not to block traffic during his convoy’s passage. The CM had previously instructed that the flow of traffic should remain uninterrupted so as not to inconvenience the public, which led to the continuous movement of vehicles while his convoy passed.
How accident took place
This unique arrangement had allowed for smooth traffic flow even during the passage of the convoy. However, the car coming from the wrong side hit one of the vehicles in the convoy.
The driver of the car that collided with the convoy was also injured and has been taken into custody by the police. Senior police officials have arrived at the scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
