Patna: The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday gave its nod for filling up 27,370 posts in various government departments. The cabinet approved the health department’s proposal for constitution of “Public Health Cadre” and “Hospital Management Cadre” for filling up 20,016 posts of different categories, Cabinet Secretariat Department’s Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) S Siddharth told reporters here in a post cabinet meeting. It gave its nod for creating 20,016 posts of different categories, he said.
Creation of 3,306 posts of Urdu translators
The cabinet also decided to give a go-ahead for creation of 3,306 posts of assistant Urdu translators in the state, Siddharth said adding that these posts will be filled as per “Bihar Rajya Urdu Anuwadak Samvarg Niyamawali 2016” (Bihar State Urdu Translator Cadre Rules, 2016). These Urdu translators will be deployed in different offices of the state including districts, sub-divisions, blocks & cricles, he added.
2,590 posts of clerk in agri dept
In another important decision, the cabinet also gave its nod for creation of 2,590 posts of clerk cadre in agriculture department, he said.
48 posts created for six new Excise Chemical Laboratories in six dist
The cabinet also approved the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department’s proposal for setting up one each permanent new ‘excise chemical laboratory’ in six districts of Rohtas, Aurangabad, West Champaran, Begusarai, Kishanganj and Gopalganj, Additional Chief Secretary said and added that 48 new posts of different categories were created for the purpose.
36 posts for Ayush hospital at Patna
It also approved the proposals of General Administration Department to create 35 posts of ‘data entry operator’ for Bihar Staff Selection Commission, he said adding that 36 different posts of gazetted and non gazetted cadre were created for smooth running of 50 bed integrated Ayush hospital at Patna.
Officers for every 10 panchayats to inspect govt schools
In another important decision, the cabinet gave its nod for education department’s proposal for micro monitoring of schools right from primary to higher secondary level to ensure quality education in the state, Siddharth, who is also Education Department’s ACS, told reporters. It approved the department’s proposal to constitute “Bihar Education Administrative Cadre Rules 2025”, he said, adding that a strong administrative structure is being created at block level for strict inspection and monitoring of schools.
An assistant education development officer (AEDO) will be given the job of inspecting and monitoring schools of every 10 panchayats while education development officer will monitor schools at block level, he said adding that these officers will be appointed through Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Notably, there are over 84,00 panchayats in the state while there are 534 blocks in the state.
Bihar Contingency Fund increased to Rs 10,000 cr
The cabinet also approved the government’s proposal to increase the Bihar Contingency Fund (BCF) corpus from existing Rs 350 crore to Rs 10,000 crore till March 2026.
Bihar Industrial Incentive Policy extended
It also extended the application of Bihar Industrial Incentive Policy 2016 till the new Bihar Industrial Incentive Policy 2025 comes into effect, Siddharth said. The cabinet gave its nod to 27 decisions of different departments, he added.
