Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has got a makeover! Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia has unveiled a new logo for BSNL from a globe in grey colour to a new orange colour showcasing Indian Map on it. Moreover, the arrows throughout the globe have also gone through colour change from Red-Blue to White-Green, while completing the Indian Flag’s colours. The new logo of the BSNL focuses on “Secure, Affordable, and Reliable” connectivity.
“The green and white arrows surrounding India emphasize the company’s expansive nationwide reach, while the vibrant orange backdrop signifies warmth and inclusivity,” BSNL said. Along with the new logo, the telecom company has also revealed seven new initiatives: “Made in India, Made for India and Made by India.” Here’s what the new BSNL has announced.
BSNL New Initiatives
- Spam Blocking Solution
BSNL is bringing a spam-blocking system which promises to automatically block phishing and malicious SMS to make communication safer and secure.
- D2D service
It is said to be India’s first Direct-to-Device service which will converge satellite and terrestrial mobile networks. This will be beneficial, especially in an emergency in isolated areas. It will also enable UPI payments in such areas, BSNL mentioned.
- 5G In Mines
BSNL has also introduced low-latency 5G connectivity for mining operations in India with C-DAC. It will enable AI and IoT (Internet of Things) applications in underground mines, including real-time control of AGVs, AR-enabled remote maintenance, fleet tracking, and more.
- ‘Public Protection & Disaster Relief’
BSNL claims to have secured a network in India for government and relief agencies during a crisis.
- Wi-Fi Roaming Service
BSNL is also introducing a Wi-Fi roaming service in India for fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) customers with high-speed internet at BSNL hotspot at no extra cost ensuring affordability.
- SIM Kiosks
SIM kiosks will let you purchase, upgrade, port or replace your SIM at any time using UPI or QR-based payments with multi-lingual access.
- BSNL’s fibre-based intranet TV
It is also said to be India’s first fiber-based intranet TV which offers 500+ live channels via FTTH network at no extra cost.
