New Delhi: A day after the Ganderbal attack, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said he has asked security forces to “exact a price” from terrorists for the dastardly act.
A local doctor and six non-locals were gunned down in the terror attack at an under-construction tunnel at Gund in Ganderbal district on Sunday.
Sinha said he had called for avenging the attack. Taking to X, he wrote, “The brutal and savage attack against construction workers will be avenged. I’ve asked the J&K Police, security forces to exact a price that will be remembered by the terrorists and their associates for time to come.”
‘Pakistan poses a threat’
Speaking at an event, Sinha said India won’t forget the dastardly attack. He pointed out that Pakistan posed a threat to the area. “It is still trying to kill innocent people in this region and to destabilise peace here,” he said at the Police Martyrs’ Day function. “We need to stop drug smuggling here and be aware of possible threats. We need to improve counter-insurgency operations,” he underlined. Paying homage to those killed while performing their duty, Sinha said their sacrifices will be remembered forever.
Kashmir Pakistan nahi banega: Farooq Abdullah
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah also came down heavily on Pakistan for the Sunday attack. He said that he wanted to tell the Pakistan leadership that if they want good relations with India, they should put an end to this. “Kashmir Pakistan nahi banega (Kashmir will never become Pakistan). Let us live with dignity and succeed,” he added. He sounded a stern warning to Pakistan, stating that there will be “very severe” results if they didn’t stop fuelling terrorism on its soil. “It is time to end terrorism. How will talks be held if they continue killing our innocent people?”
