Ballia: A wedding took a dramatic turn in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh when the bride called off the marriage due to the actions of the baraatis. The incident took place during the traditional ritual of taking seven rounds around the sacred fire.
While the ritual was in progress, some baraatis began to argue over the cooler, trying to position it to get the best airflow. The disagreement escalated into a full-blown fight, creating such a ruckus that the bride was deeply upset by their behaviour. Feeling embarrassed and disturbed, she announced that she no longer wanted to go through with the marriage.
Groom attempted to convince bride
Despite the groom’s attempts to convince her that such things can happen during weddings, the bride remained firm in her decision.
The bride insisted that the baraatis should leave the venue and the situation quickly deteriorated into a clash between the bride’s family and the groom’s party.
Dispute reached police station
The dispute escalated to the point where it required police intervention. Both parties ended up at the police station, where the groom expressed his desire to marry the bride. However, she continued to refuse, standing her ground against the marriage.
Ultimately, after a long night of negotiations and arguments, the baraatis had to return home empty-handed, unable to proceed with the wedding.
