Breaking News Live Updates, 26 August 2024: The BJP is aiming to secure 66 out of the 90 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly, according to sources following a meeting of its Central Election Committee on Sunday. The committee convened to finalise the party’s candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, which are being held after a decade. The final list of candidates is expected to be released today. Meanwhile, the central government’s decision, the Maharashtra government has also approved the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for state employees. In a meeting held on Sunday, the Shinde cabinet gave the green light to UPS. The Eknath Shinde-led government has decided to implement the scheme.
