Shillong: A bus accident occurred on the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) campus on August 20, after a vehicle carrying students and faculty members crashed into a wall due to a sudden brake failure. The incident took place at around 4.15 pm, shortly after classes had ended.
In an attempt to avoid colliding with another bus on campus, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which resuled in the crash. The passengers on board sustained only minor injuries, while the driver was treated for his injuries with bandages. According to Rani Pathak, USTM’s Public Relations Officer, the brake failure was the primary cause of the accident.
