Patna: Poll strategist turned politician and Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor, who is sitting on fast-unto-death in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan in Bihar demanding cancellation of BPSC exam, has sparked buzz at the protest site thanks to his luxury van parked at the spot.
Prashant Kishor has said that he will continue his hunger strike until the Nitish Kumar government cancels the BPSC’s 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 preliminary exam.
Guards to protect PK’s luxury van
Meanwhile, clarifying on his on his vanity van, Prashant Kishore said there is nothing special in the vanity van and this was gifted to him by someone. After the row over the luxury van at protest site, the Jan Suraaj chief has now deputed guards who are stopping people from taking pictures of the vehicle. People close to Kishor said that he is using the van just to get fresh.
Prashant Kishor also told media that he kept the van to avoid going home to use washroom else his rivals would accuse him of going home and having food and break the hunger strike.
About the vanity van
It is reported that the vanity van, which has a Punjab registration number, costs around Rs 4 cr. The car is reportedly designed by prominent car designer Dilip Chhabria. The daily rent of the vanity van is also reportedly around Rs 25 lakh. However, Prashant Kishor has denied reports of rent and cost of the van. He also called people foolish calling the van costly and luxurious.
Why the BPSC protests
The protesting BPSC aspirants have been demanding the cancellation of the preliminary exam claiming the paper leak in exam. This week, police lathicharged aspirants and fired water cannon on BPSC aspirants in the chilly weather condition causing outrage.
