Mumbai: The Mumbai Police have launched an investigation after a call was received from an unknown person threatening to blow up Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s car on Thursday morning, PTI has reported.
Calls were received at the Goregaon and J J Marg police stations, along with the control room at Mantralaya — the state government’s headquarters, received threatening calls.
The caller warned of a bomb attack on Eknath Shinde’s car, an official confirmed. Following the threat, security around Shinde has been intensified, according to media reports.
Currently, Shinde is in Delhi along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar for Rekha Gupta’s swearing-in ceremony as Delhi’s Chief Minister and the following meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting at the Imperial Hotel.
