New Delhi: A bomb threat targeting the Bihar Sampark Kranti Express on Friday evening, which was en route from Darbhanga to New Delhi, caused a security scare, leading authorities to halt the train in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district.
The alert came from the Delhi Control Room, prompting immediate action from security teams, including the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). At around 7.30pm, the train was brought to a stop at Gonda Junction, where a bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough search of the carriages.
No suspicious items or explosives found
“We received information from the Delhi Control Room about a potential bomb on the train. Security forces responded quickly, and the train was examined thoroughly,” New agency PTI quoted Gonda GRP Inspector Narendra Pal Singh as saying.
After a meticulous search, authorities confirmed that no suspicious items or explosives were found. Following clearance, the train was allowed to continue its journey to New Delhi.
Inspector Singh assured passengers that an investigation is ongoing to trace the source of the hoax threat.
