Well, BMW has updated all its 1000cc lineup for the 2025 model year. This includes the S1000 RR, M1000 RR, S 1000 R and M 1000 R together. These bikes now all are Euro 5+ compliant which is the latest emission norm mandate from the European Union. They all receive a tiny power bump and a few features.
The S 1000 R and the M 1000 R are naked motorcycles and essentially share the same mechanicals as the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR which are fully faired track monsters and both of them receive a complete aero kit. Here are the changes.
On the S 1000 R and M 1000 R, they both now get new LED headlights which are similar to their faired siblings but don’t have the cowl and the fairing. All the other changes are mostly done to the S 1000 R which now gets 5 bhp more to make a total of 170 bhp and BMW has also altered the final gear ratio to increase acceleration. It also receives a host of electronic add ons like a quick throttle, and engine drag troque control which will reduce rear wheel lock-up and finally there is a USB C-charger underneath the seat as well.
The M 1000 R doesn’t get much changes except the new LEDs and the quick throttle from the S 1000 R. BMW has also painted the winglets black now for a more aggressive look.
The S 1000 R doesn’t have any more power but receives a completely new fairing with winglets. BMW has also added the wheel cover option on the S 1000 RR to aid cooling. The M 1000 RR on the other hand has somehow gotten even crazier. It now gets 6 bhp more producing a total of 218 bhp and BMW has significantly increased the size of the winglets and they are huge now. There is a new ABS mode as well to work specially with slick tyres.
India will most probably get these changes next year and we also expect a slight price increase for these motorcycles.
