New Delhi: The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj is witnessing a grand congregation of devotees not only from the country but from across the globe. Devotees from countries like Russia, the United States, Germany, and Belgium among others took the holy dip on the second day of Maha Kumbh, the first ‘Amrit Snan’. According to an ANI report, over 1 crore devotees have already taken the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam today.
Nitya Tarangini, a devotee from Russia who lives in Vrindavan, expressed her excitement, while talking to ANI, said, “This is such a rare opportunity to participate in Kumbh Mela. It is very special, and many people are coming. We are here to share books and knowledge about Sanatana Dharma and remind people about their real life and dharma.”

A foreign devotee emphasised the universal appeal of Maha Kumbh, stating, “The spirit of India is very powerful at this moment. Maha Kumbh is not just an occasion for India; it is for the whole world.”
“Maha Kumbh is very well organised. It is vast, and the people are so friendly. I came here to feel the spiritual energy and connect with Indian people,” said Thomas, a devotee from Germany. Aurora from Belgium termed her Maha Kumbh experience very peaceful. “The vibes of Kumbh Mela are incredible. I am really happy to be here; I can feel the energy,” she added.
‘A blessing to be part of this spiritual journey’
“This is such a pure place. I am looking forward to being with the people of India, taking a dip in the holy water, and chanting with them. It is a blessing to be part of this spiritual journey,” said Makeshwari Dasi from the USA.
Several devotees, including Priyamadasi and Nritya Tarangini from Russia, highlighted the importance of spreading Sanatana Dharma. “We came here under the guidance of our guru to share the Bhagavad Gita and remind people about the essence of dharma and how to live happily,” Priyamadasi said.
The Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years at one of four sacred locations in the country, is considered the largest religious gathering in the world, will continue till February 26.
