New Delhi: As the political battle heats up ahead of Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal raised allegations against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a letter addressed to the chief election commissioner, Kejriwal accused BJP of attempting to undermine the integrity of the elections through manipulation of voter lists in New Delhi Assembly constituency.
Kejriwal’s allegations against BJP
Kejriwal alleged that BJP was using backdoor tactics to mislead the people of Delhi by secretly manipulating the voter list. According to the AAP leader, BJP is adding fake votes using the addresses of its MPs and ministers.
Kejriwal claimed that votes from across the country were being linked to New Delhi Assembly constituency, which he argues is a deliberate effort to alter the electoral process.
What Arvind Kejriwal said
The crux of the issue revolves around BJP’s candidate from New Delhi, Pravesh Verma. Kejriwal has accused Verma of applying to add 33 names to his address, calling this action suspicious. He further suggested that such actions could be considered corrupt and urged the Election Commission to disqualify Verma due to his alleged involvement in manipulating voter lists.
The AAP chief has called for a thorough investigation into these allegations, warning that such practices could severely damage the credibility of the electoral process.
