Dehradun: The state’s both the ruling BJP and the main opposition Congress have intensified their preparations for the coming Local Bodies’ elections in the state. While the BJP is making a list of leaders, who have political grip over their area concerned as a part of its exercise for the candidates’ selection, the Congress has sought a report from the party in-charge of all districts about their programme in the areas concerned of different local bodies across the state.
The state congress has already asked the party’s in-charge of all districts to visit different areas concerned. The tour-programme of the district in-charge has been given final shape by the Congress party. The congress’ district in-charges have been asked to hold meetings with the party workers at the ground level.
BJP sought report about the performance of party candidates in the last elections
After appointing election in-charges in all the districts, the party has now sought a report from them about the performance of the party candidates in the last local bodies’ elections. They will also look for the possible candidates, who can win in the local bodies’ elections. BJP aims to put up a good show in the local bodies’ elections. The party is under plan to announce the list of its candidates after the clear picture on reservation. BJP leaders said the party has started its homework to identify the potential candidates to be fielded by it in the local bodies’ elections.
After reservation is finalized, BJP will deploy three observers in municipal corporations
The BJP is also under a plan to send 50 “Tolies” of the party observers in different areas of the different local bodies. The party will give special focus on booth management in the local bodies’ elections. After the reservation is finalized, three observers will be deployed in different municipal corporations to ensure proper selections of candidates. Several BJP leaders will tour the areas of different corporations, the municipalities, and the Nagar Panchayats. The report submitted by these leaders will be matched with the survey. Then, the party will send its report to the state parliamentary board.
