Congress questions inspection, demands similar checks for PM Modi
Congress expressed dissatisfaction over the inspection, questioning its authenticity. Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput criticised the process, suggesting that it was merely a display and did not include a thorough check, such as inspecting under the seats. The party demanded that similar checks be conducted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s helicopter saying that the law should be the same for everyone.
Congress leaders pointed out that while the video of the inspection was shown on TV, they were not convinced by the procedure and demanded more stringent checks.
Amit Shah responds
Amit Shah responded to the incident through a post on X , stating, “Today, during the election campaign in Maharashtra’s Hingoli Assembly, officials from the Election Commission conducted an inspection of my helicopter. The BJP believes in fair elections and supports a healthy electoral system by adhering to all the rules set by the Election Commission.”
He added that everyone should contribute to maintaining a robust election system and uphold their duties to ensure India remains the strongest democracy in the world.
