Patna: The political scene in Bihar has recently been heating up with a fierce poster war between two major parties, amidst the heating atmosphere in the state due to the Waqf row. On Friday, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) installed a striking poster that depicted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as a chameleon. The poster boldly claimed, “Nitish Kumar changes colour faster than a chameleon,” and has quickly become a key part of the party’s ongoing critique of the CM’s shifting political stance.
In a swift comeback, the Janata Dal United (JDU) unveiled its own poster today, flipping the script and labelling RJD leader Lalu Yadav as the real chameleon. This exchange has only intensified the already fierce rivalry between the two parties.
RJD’s poster campaign is just getting started. They’ve rolled out a new social media graphic that takes a jab at Nitish Kumar’s decline, humorously suggesting that not as many earrings have hit the ground in Bareilly as Nitish has fallen out of the public’s good graces. They’ve even plastered posters on the outside of former CM Rabri Devi’s home, driving home the point that while chameleons change their colours, Nitish Kumar switches his political loyalties even faster.
The RJD is using this poster battle to highlight what they see as a betrayal of public trust by the Chief Minister, after his stance on issues like the Iftar tax, NRC, and Waqf. They believe these contentious positions will stick in the minds of the voters, and come election time, Nitish Kumar will have to face the music.
In a bold move, RJD also posted a graphic on social media showing Nitish Kumar in RSS gear, adding yet another layer of intrigue to the political drama unfolding in Bihar.
As political tensions simmer across the nation, especially following the Waqf Bill’s passage in the Lok Sabha, the atmosphere in Bihar is electric. Internal strife within JDU seems to be stoking the flames, making it clear that the rivalry between these two parties is far from over.
