Patna: The signing ceremony for the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 agreement took place today. Jitendra Pran Singh Thakur, Secretary of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, and Ravindran Shankaran, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority, signed the memorandum. Other dignitaries, including Ravindranath Chaudhary, Anand Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Tejaswi Singh Gehlot, and Kumar Vijay, attended the event.
Captain Sonali Vishnu and vice-captain Pushpa Rana graced the occasion. Ravindran Shankaran presented symbolic gifts and honored attendees. He expressed pride in hosting the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup in Rajgir for the first time, emphasizing Bihar’s growing role in national and international sports due to government support.
The tournament will feature teams from 14 countries such as India, Iran, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, Holland, Japan, Poland, Argentina, Hungary, Germany, Kenya, and Uganda. Matches will be free for spectators but require online registration for passes. Large screens will be set up for those without passes.
Bihar is ensuring comprehensive arrangements for players’ travel, accommodation, and meals. Additionally, a training camp for India’s team may be organized in Rajgir to acclimate players and benefit local athletes through practice sessions. Officials pledged further support to elevate Bihar’s kabaddi team performance at junior and senior levels.
