Darbhanga: Violent clashes reportedly took place between two groups after a tableau of Ram-Janaki marriage passed through a Mosque, on the occasion of Vivah Panchami, in Darbhanga district of Bihar. The incident took place Ganipur Tarauni village of the district.
The incident is believed to be occurred when the tableau was passing near a mosque in Friday. The police reached the violence hit area soon after getting the information and took charge. While the peace is back in the area, several people have also been injured in the area, the police said.
Slogans heard near mosque
As per locals, this wasn’t the first time that such kind of incidents took place in the district. This year alone, there were reports of several incidents of stone pelting on religious tableaus. Sharing details, the police said that events have been taking place in Darbhanga for the last 30 years on the occasion of Vivah Panchami at the Ram Janaki temple However, like unlike this year, there had been no reports of ruckus. There was a ruckus as soon as the tableau reached near the mosque
As soon as the tableau reached near Pathantoli Mosque, some slogans led to tensions in the are. shouting slogans and creating a stir. At least three people were injured in the incident, who were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Senior reached the spot after violence
SP City and SDM Sadar were among the senior officials of the state, after receiving information relating to violence and urged the people to maintain peace in the area. Earlier in January, there was a riot during the procession of Shri Ram in Bhapura village of Singhwada police station area.
At that time too some miscreants pelted stones on the tableau. According to SDM Vikas Kumar, the tableau always used to return from near the mosque, however, this time there were reports of dome some dispute.
