New Delhi: This will send a chill down your spine. A 15-year-old boy died after he was operated upon by a fake doctor to remove stone from his gall bladder in Bihar’s Saran, an NDTV report said.
According to the report, the fake doctor allegedly depended on YouTube videos to perform the surgery. When the boy’s condition worsened, the fake doctor made arrangement for an ambulance to send him to hospital in Patna. While being taken to the hospital, the teenager passed away on the way. The fake doctor and others left the body at the hospital and fled the place, the family members of the victim were quoted as saying by the news agency.
The deceased has been identified as Krishna Kumar. His family said that they brought the boy to Ganpati Hospital in Saran as he was throwing up. Chandan Shaw, the father of the boy, said they admitted him after which he stopped vomiting. However, the doctor Ajit Kumar Puri noted that he needed to be operated upon, he said, and added he carried out the surgery by watching videos on YouTube. The boy died later.
‘We think he was self-styled and fake’
The boy’s family pointed out that they are unaware whether the man had proper qualifications. “We think he was self-styled and fake,” they alleged.
Prahlad Prasad Shaw, the grandfather of the boy, said the 15-year-old started feeling better after his vomiting stopped. But the doctor operated on the boy without seeking the approval of the family, he added. He was in pain and when we asked the doctor about it, he got a little peeved, the grandfather revealed.
In the evening, the boy’s breathing stopped. He was immediately taken to Patna. But he died on the way. The ‘doctor’ and others abandoned the body on the hospital’s stairs and fled, Prahlad Prasad Shaw alleged.
An FIR has been filed by the police. The post-mortem examination report is still awaited. The cops have launched a manhunt to track the fake doctor and other staff members of Ganpati Seva Sadan.
