Patna: In good news for people of Bihar and rest of the country , the roads in the state are set to undergo the major change with several express way to come up soon. As per officials , at leaste 10 expressways have been proposed to meet the demands of the people in the state.
Built at an estimated cost of Rs 1,43,000 crore, these expres ways will not only reduce travel time of commuters but also help in improving the economy of the region. The expressways will also reduce the travel time betweem Bihar and nearby states including West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Assam.
Here are some of the expressways which will connect parts of Bihar
Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway: Passing through through four districts of Bihar, this express way will not only reduce traffic congestion and also help in trade between Bihar and other other states. The total cost of the stretch is Rs 30,000 crore.
Patna-Ara-Sasaram Expressway: This 118 km stretch is being built at the cost of Rs 4,000 crore . Onece inaugurated it will reduce the travel time of the commuters and also make commuting acros the state easier.
Bakarpur–Dumria Ghat Expressway: This stretch is being built at the total cost of Rs 2,200 crore. One come up, the 92-km stretch will connect Bakarpur with Dumriya Gha.It will ease the traffic flow between Muzaffarpur, Patna, Saran, and Vaishali.
Raxaul-Haldia Greenfield Expressway: Once come up, this six-lane expressway will connect Raxual in East Champaram district of Bihar to West Bengal’s Haldia city. The This stretch will be built ta the estimated cost of Rs 40,000 crore.
Munger-Mirzachowki Expressway: This 125-km-long Expressway is being constructed at the cost of Rs 8000 crore (approx).
Patna-Bettiah Expressway: This four-lane expressway will link Patna to Bettiah and will be built at the cost of Rs 6,500 crore.
