Patna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was on a one-day visit to Patna on Saturday, January 18. During this visit, he participated in several programmes. Rahul also met with the BPSC candidates who had been protesting in Gardani Bagh for a long time. The students presented their views to Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress leader told the students, “I am with you. Wherever you say, you will find Rahul Gandhi standing with you.” The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha also paid a visit to Lalu Prasad Yadav at his residence, after Tejashwi Yadav’s request for a meeting between the duo.
Bihar BPSC protests
For the last month, candidates have been protesting in Gardanibagh, demanding the complete cancellation of the BPSC preliminary examination. The matter regarding the 70th BPSC examination is pending in the Supreme Court. The demand from the students has received support from many political parties. In this context, Rahul Gandhi also expressed his support for the students. This will strengthen the students’ campaign.
Rahul Gandhi met the BPSC candidates and listened to their problems. The candidates appreciated this gesture from Rahul Gandhi. Many pictures and videos have surfaced in which Rahul Gandhi is seen talking to the students sitting at the protest site. Rahul also sat on the ground with the students. The candidates presented their demands to the leader one by one. They are considering Rahul’s meeting as a huge success.
Public rally in Patna
Upon arriving in Patna, Rahul Gandhi first addressed the Constitution Protection Conference at Bapu Auditorium, where he strongly criticised the BJP and RSS. Rahul said that the BJP and RSS want to change the constitution, but he will not let that happen. Afterward, Rahul visited Sadakat Ashram, where he met with party leaders and addressed officials. After the inauguration of the staff quarters, Rahul went directly to Gardanibagh to meet the BPSC candidates.
