Surajkund: With less than a year left for Assembly elections in Bihar, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reiterated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would contest the polls under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The BJP and Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) are partners in the ruling alliance.
The two-day meeting of Bihar’s BJP Committee was held in Haryana’s Surajkund, where the decision was taken. Speaking to media later, the state president of the party, Dilip Jaiswal, restated all speculations on the alliance CM’s face and made it clear that the alliance would contest the polls with Nitish Kumar as CM’s face.
No difference in NDA on CM face: BJP
Seconding Jaiswal’s announcement, Bihar minister Prem Kumar that all five alliance partners of NDA in Bihar are together on this. Notably, one of the five alliance partners in the state, HAM (S) held its national conference in New Delhi earlier today, where the party also backed Nitish Kumar’s name, Hindustan Times reported.
The confusion was increased during a recent interview with a news channel, The Union Home Minister said that the NDAs CM face will be decided after the alliance partners sit and discuss. He added that it was after this that the announcement would be made, he said further. It was after his statement that speculations that the BJP might not insist on projecting Nitish Kumar as CM.
A total of 31 members attended the BJPs core committee meeting
A total of 3 of 1 members attended the Score committee meeting. During the meeting, members discussed several issues, including the roadmap for assembly elections and the joint meeting of the NDA, which will begin on January 15.
As per the party leaders, the BJP is looking to make BJP its main agenda. It added that parties in the NDA are looking to take the works of the Centre as well as the state governments to every village and every house of the state.
