Bihar: Begusarai deputy commissioner marries niece, faces FIR from bride’s parents

Begusarai: A government officer in Bihar is in news after he reportedly marred his niece. Following the marriage, the officer, who is said to be posted as deputy commissioner in Begusarai Municipal Corporation, is facing a case of abduction.

The officer in question is identified as Shiv Shakti Kumar, who married Sajay Sindhu after an affair. Both are natives of a village in Hajipur district of Bihar. The curious thing between the two is that they have uncle-niece relation.

After the marriage, Sajay’s parents alleged that Shiv Shakti abducted their daughter. But the couple has now come out in open confessing to marriage after an extended affair, according to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan.

What Sajay Sindhu says on relationship with Shiv Shakti Kumar

After marrying his uncle, Sajay said love affair is a personal decision of any individual and no one should interfere in this. “We want to convey to Vaishali police that the FIR filed against Shiv Shakti for my abduction is completely baseless and has no truth. Had I been kidnapped, I would not have standing before you.”

Sajay said that after her love marriage, her parents started harassing her in different ways. These are all tricks to put up obstacles in their married life, she added.

What Shiv Shakti said

The deputy commissioner Shiv Shakti Kumar conveyed to Vaishali police saying they have performed a ‘love marriage’ and did not indulge in kidnapping of Sajay. “There is no immoral act here. We want police to give us security so that we can feel safe,” he said.

Earlier, the girl’s uncle Arun Kumar Rai met corporation mayor Pinki and commissioner Satyendra Kumar and complained against the deputy commissioner Shiv Shakti. Rai told the commissioner that Shiv shakti is his cousin. Meanwhile, Pinki Devi has formed a 3-member committee to probe the issue.
