Kaimur: In a tragic incident, at least three people lost their lives and four others were injured after a jeep carrying devotees from Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh collided with a truck in Bihar’s Kaimur district. Informing about the incident on Sunday, the police said that the incident took place in the Chilbili area of the district.
While a case has been registered by the police, they are trying to find out the exact cause of the tragic incident. Sharing further details of the accident, the police further said that work is underway to find out the identities of those who lost their lives. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Authorities are working to ascertain the identity of the deceased, he added.
10 people lost their lives in another accident this month
Earlier this month, 10 people lost their lives and 19 others were injured after a Bolero car collided head-on with a bus on Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway in Uttar Pradesh near Meja police station at midnight.
As per the police, the Bolero was carrying devotees from Korba district in Chhattisgarh to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh Mela. The bus, with which the Bolero collided, was carrying passengers from the Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh. It was returning from Prayagraj.
The collision was so massive that the Bolero got completely damaged after the accident. Later, the police had to use a JCB machine to bring out the victims from the damaged vehicle. The bus too sustained significant damage. Those injured were rushed to a nearby hospital in Ramnagar for medical treatment. The police also sent the bodies of the deceased to Swaroop Rani Medical Hospital for post-mortem examination, after which the investigation into the incident started.
