New Delhi: Spiritual leader Sadhguru has strongly criticised the alleged use of beef tallow in Tirupati Temple Prasadam. Taking to X on Saturday, the Isha Foundation Founder called the incident “beyond disgusting.” He also stressed that Hindus must be managed by devout Hindus to preserve their sanctity, instead of government administrations.
Sharing a message on X, he wrote, “Devotees consuming beef tallow in the Temple prasadam is beyond disgusting. This is why Temples should be run by Devotees, not by government administrations. Where there is no Devotion, there shall be no sanctity. Time the Hindu Temples are run by devout Hindus, not by government administration.”
Massive outrage among devotees
Sadhguru’s message on X was in response to a report appeared in ‘The Times of India’, which claimed that the prasadam at renowned Tirupati Temple allegedly contained beef tallow,resulting in massive outrage among devotees across the country. This incident has once again sparked the debate over the government-appointed bodies running religious institutions in the country.
Notably in recent times, demands have increased for placing the management of temples back into the hands of devout practitioners in order to safeguard the sanctity and integrity of Hindu temples across India.
‘Traces of foreign fat’ found in ghee sample
Recently, Gujarat’s National Dairy Board reportedly found ‘traces of foreign fat’ in ghee that is used in preparation of Tirupati laddus. As per the board, the sample from ghee suggested the presence of ‘pig fat, fish oil and beef tallow.’
