New Delhi: Pune based Berry Avionics has set up the first DGCA-Certified drone training centre in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) offers a five-day course that prepares anyone for a career in the drone industry. There is a surge in demand for drone operators because of widespread use in the agriculture, real estate, energy, mining, utilities and security sectors. The training centre is aimed at training drone pilots and providing them with certifications. In most of these commercial use cases, the drones are equipped with specialised payloads, and can be hexacopters as well as quadcopters. Apart from aspiring drone pilots, professionals can get certified, and entrepreneurs can get a better handle on how to integrate drones into their businesses.
Founder of Berry Avionics, Uyes Inamdar said, “We are excited to launch the first ever DGCA Certified training center in Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh is filled with aspiring young talent and Lucknow takes the center stage in terms of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning making it an ideal location to give us a strategic first mover advantage. With the city having its own state-of-the-art training center, we are expecting to see a potentially high demand of enrollments for our courses from Lucknow and across the state.”
Expanding the drone training network
Berry Avionics is backed by the World Trade Centre in Pune and the Shiv Nadar University in Noida. Over the course of the year, Berry Avionics plans to expand its RTPO network to Noida, Bhopal, Pune and Bengaluru. The training centre in Lucknow was opened to meet a demand for the certification course in the region. The training centre is aligned with initiatives by the Government of India including the Namo Drone Didi programme to empower women, and provide them with livelihood opportunities in the contemporary agricultural sector.
