Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for Bengaluru, warning residents of impending heavy rains and thunderstorms that are expected to persist until October 25. Notably, India’s IT capital has been grappling with relentless rainfall over the past week, causing significant disruptions, widespread waterlogging, and severe traffic congestion across various localities.
Also, we earlier reported that due to record-breaking rainfall in Bengaluru, school closures were ordered along with the announcement of work-from-home by many companies on Wednesday. However, no formal announcements have been issued yet about school closures on October 24 due to the rain. Meanwhile, IMD officials project that the intense rainfall may finally subside after October 25. While the downpours are likely to ease, the forecast indicates that cloudy skies will linger, with temperatures remaining between 20 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
