Bengaluru: A Bengaluru techie faced severe backlash on social media after he shared a compilation of women’s pictures. Netizens called out the man for objectifying women, forcing him to delete the post later.
An X user named murphyyyy shared pictures of random females and captioned the now-deleted post, “All the Diwali patakas on Twitter. A thread. Thank me later.” Netizens reprimanded the man for resharing the pictures of women without their consent. They also lashed out at him for objectifying women by calling them “patakas”. One user wrote, “Bro is so jobless that I’m willing to give him a job to clean gutters because it feels like he belongs there.”

Another user stated that the techie was tarnishing the image of men with his actions. Many others called the man “creepy” and “weird”. They shamed him and advised him to find another full-time job or hobby.
However, the man defended his actions by sharing captions posted by women with the word “pataka”. He claimed that the word was also used by women to describe themselves. He wrote, “Our ‘pataka’ pataka my ‘pataka’ rapist misogynist creep blah blah? Just for people teaching me how to spell ‘consent’. I did not download their media and posted it from my account. I have quoted it…”
Meanwhile, many women, whose pictures were quoted in the techie’s thread, deleted their images and objected to be man’s actions.
